- Data security
In a centralised application, all data is stored on a central server. If something happens to the central server or if it gets shut down for any reason you lose your data forever. With decentralised applications, your data is safe as there is no central server, which means the application developers have no access to your data through a central server.
- Can’t be shut down
Governments can ban any centralised applications. For example, China has banned Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. But decentralised applications can’t be shut down or blocked. There is no central server or entity in charge that governments can attack to shut down.
- Faster data transfer
Data is spread among networks of computers. Every single computer in the decentralised application is helping out to upload and download the data which transfer data much more efficiently and faster.
